Stephanie practices law in the areas of estate planning and administration, business law, and elder law. As part of these practice areas, Stephanie works with clients to create their estate plans; administers trusts and probates estates; prepares federal and Oregon estate tax returns; advises clients on the optimum choice of entity; forms limited liability companies, including the preparation of articles of organization and operating agreements; assists with the establishment of guardianship and conservatorship proceedings; and advises fiduciaries. Stephanie is a National Certified Guardian (NCG).

Stephanie Carter also serves as a fiduciary at Pegasus Fiduciary Services, LLC, a business created by attorneys at Draneas & Huglin, P.C. to administer trusts and estates by serving as trustee, conservator or personal representative.

Prior to attending law school, Stephanie served as an Associate Dean at Centralia College. As such, she directed library operations and coordinated distance and online education.

In 2018 Stephanie completed a Graduate Certificate in Taxation at Portland State University. She served on the legislative work group to prepare the Advance Directive legislation that went into effect in 2018 and was appointed to the newly created Advance Directive Adoption Committee by Governor Brown. Stephanie served on the board of Elders in Action for four years and served on the Tigard Library Board as an alternate member for two years. She is a member of the Lake Oswego Branch of the American Association of University Women and served as co-President. Stephanie formerly served on the Community Service Committee of the Multnomah Bar Assocation's Young Lawyers Section. Stephanie authored chapter 6 of the Barbook Administering Trusts Oregon in 2017.
